PGD for MEN1 & Sex Selection

My name is jessie from Australia. It's impossible to have a sex selection in Australia and we are looking oversea treatment. But I'm 48 now, and husband is 54 and have MENI genetics problem.
My question is do your do Gender selection and PGD for MEN1 - multiple endocrine neoplasia I.”
I have irregular periods, it's better to wait for the menstruation completely stop and start the IVF treatment?
If we go for the treatment, could we do the pre-testing in Australia prior treatment in overseas?
How long do we have to stay there?

The good news: With the new method of doing PGS/PGD http://www.reproductivepartners.com/fertility-treatment/southern-california-pgd.html with a blastocyst biopsy, freezing all the embryos and then doing the transfer it is possible to do both PGS for sex selection and PGD for a single gene defect if we can create a probe for the abnormal gene.

The bad news: It is not likely that at age 48 that one can make enough quality embryos to be successful with IVF, let alone have enough embryos to do PGD/PGS.

Maybe have your doctors in Australia test your ovarian reserve before you go any further with this.

It would take two visits here, one for the retrieval andmonitoring for about a week and then one for the frozen embryo transfer for a few days. Most of the monitoring could be done near your home.

I know it's not suitable to use my egg : , I will go for egg donor program. if you have egg donor's profile available for us to view and select? We will prefer asian donor and Caucasian is fine to us as well

ovarian reserve - what is the test for? It's the test for progesterone ? whether I'm suitable to carry a baby? When I ask for the test, what should I ask for? Please advise.

Although I'm 48, I still full of energy. To carry on my husband's offspring is our wish..(because he is the only son in the family... )

If you plan to use donor eggs there is no need to test your ovarian reserve. (The usual tests are FSH, estradiol and AMH)

If you wish to come here you can make a telephone consultation appointment, then we will give you a list of resources to find a donor and arrange for your husband to send information and a blood sample if needed to our genetics laboratory.

I have received some information from Sharon, will read through and have better understanding the price structure & whole procedures.
Do we have to find our egg donor ourselves through agency? or could you arranged this through your clinic?.
Is the screening test done on egg donor once a year? or prior to any of the egg donation, the egg donor need to have a screen test first.
What is the blood sample for? for PGD study?
How is the weather looks like in December?
Could I have your actual address at the consultation office?
and the egg transfer location /hosptial ?
I need all these geographics area to decide where to stay, more information will be helpful.

In order to preserve your privacy It would probably now be better to communicate with Sharon, not in a public forum.

We will give you information on donor agencies when you have your telephone consultation. Donor screening is done with each cycle.

The blood test is to create a probe for the abnormal gene.

The weather is cool in December, perhaps some rain but we can have any type of weather at any time of the year so it could even be hot.

Everything is done at our office at 510 N. Prospect Redondo Beach CA 90277. There is a nearby Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza and I think we have a contract rate there. We are about 30 minutes away from LAX airport.
