Re: Siblings, male and female, both diagnosed with infertility

I doubt that yours and your brother's problems are related or genetic. For you with all your tests normal and at your age I would be trying a few cycle of clomiphene or injectables with IUI before returning to IVF. If you do need IVF you can almost eliminate any concern about hyperstimulation by usi...

Re: New to IVF

Welcome to the World of IVF. I am not aware of any insurance you can buy to supplement IVF. I think the best option would be an Attain plan from a group that has Attain which helps to give you enough tries to be successful which is really what it's all about. Success! If you have some coverage from ...

Re: Can I get pregnant

Sorry to say that from what you wrote I am not aware of anything that can be done to revive your ovaries.

The uterus can usually be prepared to carry a pregnancy using hormones.

Re: Can I get pregnant

This should not prevent you from having a baby through egg donation. You should see a Reproductive Endocrinologist when you ready to get the process started. Even though it won't be from your egg, you can still carry, deliver, nurse, raise the child and pay for college. :D Arthur L. Wisot, M. D. Rep...

Re: Clomid Days 3-7 vs 5-9

It's like the old Doublemint gum commercials. "Some call it a spear; some call it an arrow." Many studies have shown no difference in the effectiveness in the two regimens. I think doctors just use the one they were originally taught. Me, I'm a 5-9 guy. Arthur L. Wisot, M. D. Reproductive ...

Re: Endometrial lining

Since you are concerned about 2 days I assume that they are starting your progesterone. In that case the endometrial measurement change does not matter. It is important when you start progesterone. In fact it may shrink a little under the influence of progesterone and that's OK. Arthur L. Wisot, M. ...

Re: Back to back IVF Cyle?

I cannot prescribe or give details of protocols in this venue; your doctor has to give you the protocol. But you get the general idea.
Sorry I cannot be of more help.

Re: Back to back IVF Cyle?

There is varying opinions of doing back-to-back cycles among Res but you have a good reason for doing it: insurance. Rather than a very short course of BCPs, if your ovaries are clear you could consider three days of antagonist before starting stims which is one protocol I have used for a quick star...

Re: AMH Levels

This is not bad news. It is probably so high because of your PCOS and you have very many antral (early) follicles. That's a good thing and very amenable to treatment. That high number probably means you can have as many more children as you want. Arthur L. Wisot, M. D. Reproductive Partners Medical ...

Re: What does Paritubal Adhesions Mean?

I would tell my imaginary relative that perhaps egg freezing would be the best course if she was not planning to try to conceive soon. Then the fact that there is only one ovary and the peritubal adhesions are no longer issues. Arthur L. Wisot, M. D. Reproductive Partners Medical Group Redondo Beach...
