IVF was originally intended for women with blocked tubes and pelvic adhesions and works really well for that. If your tubes are blocked it's your only option. If they are three day old embryos it is possible. If they are 5 day old embryos it is problematic. See the previous post for details.

PGS is done in an IVF cycle and is the part that evaluates the genetics so IVF cannnot tell you any more than the PGS itself.

With PGS we can select gender. The rest of the trait selection you read about was a fraud and is not possible.

Probably beyond that point. There is very limited experience with this as blastocyst biopsy is so new. But if they are very early blasts it is possible to do the PGD and hopefully get an answer before the embryos are too far advanced. Talk to your doctor to see if this is possible with your embryos....

I suggest you read the current recommendations on PGS for chromosomes which you can probably access on the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) website.
