Re: What does Paritubal Adhesions Mean?
At this point no one knows the real status of that tube. I really understand why you do not want another laparoscopy and I usually do not recommend a laparoscopy in someone who has a history of multiple surgeries. If a member of my family asked me what to do in this situation, I would be recommendin...

Re: What does Paritubal Adhesions Mean?
"Peritubal adhesions" means that there is scar tissue outside but near the fallopian tube. They can affect fertility by distorting the tube, not allowing tubal peristalis to propel the sperm to meed the egg and for the egg to travel into the uterus or they can block the end of the tube not...

Re: blocked vas deference
If it's a congenital absence of the vas then the option is IVF with aspirated sperm. If it is another type of blockage then surgery might be an option which may be covered by insurance. Talk to your urologist.

Re: blocked vas deference
Since we don't know yet if your husband has a blocked vas deferens I could not speculate if you could be pregnant. But if he does not ejaculate sperm and your doctor thinks it could be a blocked vas, he needs to have a thorough workup from a urologist who specializes in male fertility. Even if he do...

Re: Financial aid for IVF for Endometriosis infertility issu
I'm sorry to hear about the difficult time you have had. But I am not aware of any financial aid available for IVF for any reason. Some employers offer coverage for IVF usually through HMO's. There is usually a one year waiting period. I would encourage you to just ask your IVF center for a compassi...

Re: Prolactin
That's why it's important to know your doc's lab's normal values. But still it's not an alarming number. If your periods are regular (or like they have always been) and if you are trying to conceive and your mid-luteal progesterone is normal I think most docs would just be repeating it after a perio...

Re: Prolactin
I don't know what the normal values are for your doctor's lab but in most labs it's 5-40 which would mean your is in the normal range and usually would not be treated.

Re: 1st IVF with no normal embryos
No normal embryos is one of the most common subjects that I get. At age 36 one would expect you to do better. You need to sit down with your doctor and find out what can be dome, if anything, to improve your embryos' performance so you have more to test and a greater chance of getting some normal on...

Re: Recurrent Miscarriage
This is a very frustrating problem. Theoretically if your husband has the inversion and is normal (I assume) then if the baby inherits this arm of Chromosome 9, the pregnancy should not miscarry for that reason. I hope this pregnancy goes well for you but if not after four consecutive miscarriages I...

Re: TTC Stats
The usual recommendation for women under 35 is that they try to conceive for one year before seeking help. This would imply that the rate of conception should not significantly drop until after that year. But you are obviously concerned after three months or you would not be visiting our forum. If y...
