Endometrial Scratch Biopsy

Post by Sparrow »

I have recently experienced another failed IVF and found myself searching the internet for tips on improving my chances for the next one. I ran across a procedure called endometrial scratch biopsy. According to the medical website I stumbled across, the endometrial scratch biopsy is like "roughing up the soil" in the uterus to prepare it for implantation. The site stated that some studies have shown that it can double the chances of conception through IVF. What are your thoughts on this procedure?

thank you.

With failed cycles despite good embryo quality this is a good idea for two reasons. One is to send the specimen in to make sure there is not a low grade infection, endometritis. The second is for the effect of healing of the injury caused by the biopsy helping promote implantation.

You can refer to it a just endometrial biopsy; the "scratch" is not a real medical term.
