Dr Wisot:
Can u educate me on the use of Microdose Lupron during a IVF cycle please.
The web is just so overwhelming, I was hoping for a simple explanation
I've read a lot about low responders needing this...however I don't know how I will respond as I am about to start my first round. Is it a common protocol for older women?
And side effects if any
Thank you!
Microdose Lupron
Re: Microdose Lupron
Hi:
It is common as a protocol when we anticipate a less robust response.
Lupron is a drug that first stimulates the ovary and then suppresses. In the microdose Lupron protocol we take advantage by the dose and timing of the stimulation phase of the stimulation phase to get a better response. When we use it in a conventional cycle we usually leave the woman on it for about ten days so it will only suppress the release of LH so she does not ovulate early. They will start your stimulation drugs after a few days to take advantage of both.
There are no additional side effects using it this way.
