PGD, Assisted hatching and identical twins

Post by Orchidway »

Hello,

I was wondering what is the likelihood of having
-twins,
- identical twins
-or triplets/quadruplets
as a result of transferring 2 high quality embryos (5aa,5bb) that tested normal with PGD and used assisted hatching in a 42yr old using own eggs with no prior failed IVFs?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

I would roughly estimate that if she did get pregnant, 25% chance if twins, one of the embryos splitting into an identical twin 0.5%, triplets from both implanting and one splitting about 0.1%, quads from both implanting and splitting about 1:160,000.
