Recurrent Loss - Prednisone/Lovenox/Aspirin

Post by rlshaffer »

I am 31. In 2011, Clomid IUI, chemical pregnancy. In 2012, IVF pregnant with twins, at 5.5 weeks saw two sacs, at 6.5 weeks no heartbeats, confirmed at 7.5 weeks, D&C. In 2013, two IVF cycles, chemical pregnancy. DQ alpha test, does not match. 22-vial coag panel, all normal. NK cells not elevated. Thyroid normal. HSG all normal. Cervical swab, no infections. RE decided on Prednisone 10mg, Lovenox injection 40mg, Baby Aspirin. IVF #4 was in March. 10 eggs, 9 fertilized, 7 made it to blast stage, implanted 3, froze 4. Freeze was successful. Positive HCG 9 days after transfer at HCG=235. Continued rising, at 6w3d HCG=19,485. One baby, heartbeat confirmed at 6w3d. With everything we’ve been through, and with the pred/lov/asp protocol, what are the odds of a successful pregnancy?

Other factors to consider is a ureaplasma culture, check of shape of uterus and possible polyps or submucous fibroid (but that's probably been done) and karyotypes on you and your partner. Then perhaps an IVF cycle with PGS to make sure the embryos are chromomosomally normal.

We are not big believers in Lovenox or Prednisone except in very special circumstances.
