Hi

I am 35 years old. I've been on the birth control pill since I was 18 until last year July. In August we tried to conceive for the first time and became pregnant. Then had a miscarriage at 5.5 weeks. We then tried to conceive again in December and fell pregnant but had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. I've had a series of tests at a fertility centre and they cannot find anything wrong except that I have very low levels of vitamin D. I've had a hysterescopy and they found minor scarring which they have fixed. I am on medication to remedy the situation. In neither of the previous miscarriages had the tissue been tested as bith were natural miscarriages which I had at home. Would you recommend IVF as the next step or it too soon?

If they cannot find any other cause of your recurrent miscarriages then the most likely cause is chromosomal abnormalities (as it is in most miscarriages).

IVF with PGS to identify chromosomally normal embryos suitable for transfer would help you avoid another miscarriage.
