What type of IVF is advised for pt w/ endocrine issues?

Post by Newlylove »

I am in my late 20's and I have alot of endocrine disorders (benign thyroid nodules, fibrocystic breast tissues, 9.8mm prolactinoma and polycystic ovaries without the syndrome). One of my concerns is whether the medications used in IVF will cause any adverse effects to a patient like me with so many issues going on  . My infertility however, is primarily a tubal factor. What options do I have? What options do patients with a family hx of breast cancer (my grandmother) have in relation to the type of IVF they can undergo? Do they have any relations at all?

IVF is not likely to have an adverse effect on any of those conditions but pregnancy will usually result in stopping the prolactin medication.

We do IVF even on women with breast cancer to freeze eggs or embryos prior to chemotherapy with a special protocol which they could use on you if they feel it is a concern for you.

Unfortunately IVF may be the only/best option with tubal problems.
