CA 125 levels

Post by preparing »

I first want to say this forum is really great thanks to Dr. Wisot! I really enjoy and appreciate the straight forward answers.

My doctor has been wanting my CA 125 levels to lower (25 is the number I was told). A few months ago my level was at 38.

I just took another CA 125 test (3 days after my period...if that matters) and it is at 47!

With higher than standard range results will this effect my ivf/transfer? Why is this factor so important? Is it a sign of endo?

Quick background again:
36 yrs old
Healthy (as far as I know). I eat well and exercise 5 days a week.
No cysts when I did my last ultrasound

Thank you!

A high CA-125 can be associated with endometriosis as well as other conditions but I have never seen any evidence that the level can be correlated with reproductive failure specifically.
