After years of trying, the doctor told us that ICSI was the only option for a pregnancy for me and my husband, so we decided to go through it. As we went through the lab tests before starting ivf, it came out that i was a chronic hepatitis B carrier, (which i had no idea, and turned all our plans upside down) we stopped so that i could have a full lab check up and gastrohepatologyst consult. i need to know if we can still go on and have an ivf -icsi procedure, how risky is it for my baby ? thank you

Hepatitis B is a contagious liver disease that is caused by an infection with the Hepatitis B virus. It can be passed from a mother to her baby during childbirth, but fortunately, there is a vaccine to prevent this. This vaccine is usually given soon after birth. Having a chronic Hepatitis B infection should not keep you from being able to proceed with IVF, but it is a good idea to have all of the appropriate testing and treatment before you start your IVF cycle.
