Do you recommend assisted hatching in all cases? The research that I have done, it seems that it has tremendous benefits with limited risks. Most RE recommend that it be done after multiple failures or with patients over 38. My wife is 33 but has elevated FSH levels (12). We are looking at our first cycle and am leaning towards wanting to do this just for the possibility that the shell is too thick and/or if it just gives a little better chance of implanting.
Is one of the negatives that the assisted hatching takes place on day 3 and therefore we would not be able to wait until day 5 before ET?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Assisted Hatching
Re: Assisted Hatching
Hi:
We do assisted hatching on Day 3 transfers. On those who qualify to go on to Day 5 we do assisted hatching (AH)on Day 3 for selective reasons such as age or previous failures as well as high FSH. So your wife would qualify. You can do AH on Day 3 and then wait until Day 5 for the transfer.
Good luck.
