Safety of Long Distance Transfer of Frozen Embryos

Post by PrcsGft »

Hello,

We are considering a donor egg program that work with international clinics and offers shipping frozen embryos overseas from Europe to North America. The program involves shipping frozen sperm to an IVF clinic in Europe, where IVF procedure is performed with local donor. We couldn’t find many references about the safety of such an approach, and the risks associated with transporting frozen embryos over such a long distance, where the trip could take more than 12 hours.
Would you be able to share your opinion, and if you are aware of any studies on this topic?

Many thanks!

I know cost is a major issue but I can not understand creating your embryos or using a surrogate in a place you would not drink the water. :)

That being said, problems with transfer of frozen embryos or eggs between clinics and even international borders are rare.
