PGD Success Rates?

Since the vast majority of people seeking out IVF have fertility issues, I am assuming that the success rates reported are mostly for infertile couples.

My wife and I are carriers of single gene defect and have no fertility issues (have conceived twice already, had to terminate one unfortunately). Does the success rate that we should expect differ much from the ~40%-50% that are reported?

Yes. Since you have no fertility issues and will only be transferring embryos which have normal chromosomes as well as free from the genetic issue, your success rates will be substantially above the general infertile population.

Thank you for your quick response. It has been hard to get an answer to this question.

This is very important for us because if the 40%-50% success rates is all we can expect than we probably will take our chances naturally. But if we can achieve better success rates because of no problems with fertility, then we will pursue IVF w/PGD to avoid the stress, anxiety & worry around waiting for genetic screening results to see if our baby acquired the disease.

Do you have any affiliates in the Bay Area?
