Recurrent Miscarriage

Post by kyrobinson »

I've had 3 miscarriages in a row - all around the 8 week mark. I've started spotting/bleeding on all of them which is how I knew something was wrong. After the 3rd one, I had tons of testing done. Bloodwork, karyotpe, HSG. All came back normal except for my husband's karyotype. He has an inversion on Chromosome 9 but the doctor says that shouldn't cause any problems. Is that true? I am currently pregnant again at 6 weeks and worried sick. My doctor has me on baby aspirin but I don't know how else to easy my worries that I will never have a healthy pregnancy or baby.

This is a very frustrating problem.

Theoretically if your husband has the inversion and is normal (I assume) then if the baby inherits this arm of Chromosome 9, the pregnancy should not miscarry for that reason.

I hope this pregnancy goes well for you but if not after four consecutive miscarriages I would be thinking about IVF with PGS to try to control all that is humanly possible to control.

BTW- as part of your testing I hope they did a culture for ureaplasma.
