Optimal follicle size for conception/trigger shot during clomid cycle

Post by Courtms16 »

Hi!

I’m seeing reproductive partners for irregular ovulation and was started on clomid at 50 for cycle days 3-7. I’m on day 14 of my cycle and my one and only dominant follicle was measuring at 25mm this am (it was 13 on day 10 of my cycle). I received the trigger shot this am. I’m wondering what the (average) optimal size is for mature and healthy follicles at the time of the trigger shot? I’m reading that 25 is most likely too big/not optimal for conception...is that true? Not sure if it figures into my questions here but just in case...my uterine lining was almost 9 and looking good.

Thank you for your time!

Like the phrase, "beauty is in the mind of the beholder," you could also say "the size at which to trigger a follicle in a Clomid cycle is in the mind of the RE."

There are very varying opinions on what the best size is, which probably means it does not really matter much. But I think almost all RE's would think 25 mm is a reasonable size to trigger. And with a 9 mm endometrium, you are good.
