Mast Cell Activation/Hashimotos & Fertility

Post by mdugger »

Hello,
I am 39 and interested in testing my ovarian reserve/freezing my eggs when I am next in L.A. (this Sept/Oct). I have Hashimoto's (controlled), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and possibly a sperm allergy. I understand that high histamine levels can cause premature ovulation. I am taking DHEA and I have just started treatment with Cromolyn Sodium for the MCAS & on a low histamine diet. Do you have advice/experience with patients who have histamine issues? Is it majorly prohibitive to healthy egg retrieval?
So many thanks,
Medina

I am not an expert on the effect of MCAS on the success of egg retrieval. Since the stimulation protocol does include a GNRH agonist or antagonistic that should prevent premature ovulation

In anticipation of coming to LA you can make a telephone consultation with one of the RPMG doctors in the office which will be most convenient to your location.
