What should I do with these Semen Analysis results?

Post by BenTrying »

Hello doc,
I have the results of my semen analysis a week ago.

Volume = 2.6ml
Colour = Greyish White
pH = Alkaline
Liquefaction Time = >30 mins
Viscosity = Viscous
Sperm Concentration = 87M/ml
Total Sperm Count = 227M/ml

Motility within 1 hour ejaculation:
Grade A (Fast Forward Progressive) = 0%
Grade B (Slow Progressive) = 20%
Grade C (Sluggish) = 40%
Grade D (Immotile) = 40%

Sperm Morphology:
Normal Forms = 30%
Abnormal Forms = 70%

Round Cell Morphology:
Pus cells / h.p.f. = 6 - 8
Red blood cells / h.p.f. = 1-3
Immature Sperm Cells /h.p.f. = 2-4

Please advise what to do. Any medicines/supplements recommended?

Thanks.

The number is good but there are motility issues and a high number of WBCs (pus cells).

This could indicate an infection which could account for the motility issue.

You need a doctor to evaluate this with a culture and treat it. When it's better a repeat semen analysis will hopefully show better motility.

Is there surgery needed? Or medications? I haven't visited a doctor yet.
With these issues in motility and WBCs, can I still make my wife get pregnant?

It would likely be antibiotics.

She could conceive but the chances would be less with the decreased motility. See a doctor.
