All it takes is one. But it is a game of chance. The higher the count, motility and morphology the greater the chance of fertilization.

The sperm prep from IUI can concentrate the motile sperm and select out the best swimmers in a nutrient media depending the on wash technique. Then the IUI places them closer to the goal line. But with grade 2 motility I would not persist with IUI too long as IVF with ICSI might be needed.

I appreciate your reply. After how many IUI cycles would you suggest we start looking at IVF? Also does your clinic treat Canadians?

How long you persist depends on your age. If you are under 35 perhaps 6 cycles of well-timed IUI. If over 35, no more than 3. Time is your most important commodity.

Of course we treat Canadians. In fact we treat a lot of out of area folks and will work with a local group near you to monitor certain parts of your cycle.
