Dr Gayane Ambartsumyan, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Ambartsumyan completed residency in OB/GYN and fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at UCLA. Prior to completing fellowship, she obtained a doctorate in stem cell biology at UCLA. She is Board Certified in both OB/GYN and Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility. Dr. Ambartsumyan was awarded a prestigious clinical investigator grant 2 years in a row from California’s Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) and a highly competitive loan repayment grant from the National Institute of Health. She has written numerous scientific research articles and book chapters in leading medical journals and textbooks. She has presented many of her research findings at national meetings, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), International Society of Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) and Society of Gynecologic Investigators (SGI). Dr. Ambartsumyan is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Ob/Gyn at UCLA where she continues to teach and mentor residents interested in the field of reproductive medicine.

She is committed to helping her patients feel at ease so that they can undergo successful treatment and experience the joy of parenthood. Her personal experience and treatment with infertility gives her better perspective and compassion for each patient’s journey through fertility treatment.

Dr. Ambartsumyan lives in Rancho Palos Verdes with her husband and their 3 boys. She speaks English, Armenian and Spanish and for enjoyment she likes to spend time with her family, travel, listen to music and play the piano.
