Embryology Lab at RPMG

Reproductive Partners Embryology Laboratory

Unquestionably one of the most if not the most important determinant of IVF success is the quality of the embryo laboratory. They embryologists find the eggs at the retrieval, fertilize them, follow them in their development, prepare the embryo(s) for transfer and freeze the remaining embryos. The andrology part of the lab is responsible for performing the semen analyses and for preparing the sperm for fertilization in the IVF process.

We are proud to announce a continuing achievement that shows the quality of reproductive services we deliver to patients every day.

Ever since the early days of assisted reproductive technology the laboratory at Reproductive Partners and its preceding organizations have been at the forefront of reproductive technology. Our founding laboratory directors, Dr. David Meldrum and Dr. Bill Yee were innovators in the field and a key factor in providing top quality results to our patients. Today Dr. Bill Yee remains as Laboratory Director and Maria “Cecil” Hermoso, MS, CLS, TS(ABB), who was trained by our first Laboratory Supervisor, Minda Hamilton, is our current Laboratory Supervisor.

The Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) has awarded accreditation to Reproductive Partners Medical Group, Inc. based on results of a recent on-site inspection as part of the CAP’s Accreditation Programs. The Reproductive Partners laboratory has been accredited since CAP started providing an accreditation process for reproductive labs in 1994.

The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program is the gold standard. During the CAP accreditation process, designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients, inspectors examine the laboratory's records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examine laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and record, and overall management.

“Reproductive Partners demonstrates leadership, innovation, and a passionate commitment to standards of excellence while providing the highest quality services, ultimately for patients,” said Bharati Jhaveri, MD, FCAP, chair of the CAP’s Council on Accreditation. “The CAP congratulates Reproductive Partners on its recent CAP Accreditation.”
