What causes the problem of aneuploidy? I have a normal karyotype test. Is it age related?

It can be age related.
Each egg divides into the egg and polar body in a meiotic division which divides each chromosome pair. If they do not divide evenly this can result in too many or few chromsomes which results in trisomies or monosomies. The unequal division happens more frequently as a woman ages.
The same happens in the sperm which divides into two sperm with half the number of chromsomes.
