Frozen Embryo Quality

Post by muffin »

Hello!

I was hoping to get a professional opinion to two of my questions:

- is quality of day 6 embryo in any way worse than day 5 embryo?
- does quality of an embryo decline when it gets refrozen?

Thank you!!

A Day 6 embryo may be less likely to implant because it developed more slowly than optimal. But if its chromosomally normal it could still have a good chance.

A refreeze subjects an embryo to one more set of risks of the freezing process. But with vitrification that is low and we see most come out fine.

Dr Wisot,

May I trouble you with one more question?

My story: fresh cycle IVF - used Lupron, cycle successful, but miscarried at five weeks; FET cycle afterwords (one embryo transferred), used birth control pills (no Lupron), cycle unsuccessful. I am 40 yrs old, hoping to have another FET. Would you recommend changing protocol for my second FET? Thank you for your time!
