HCG/ovulation

Have you ever heard of a patient not ovulating from an HCG shot, when taken prior to an IUI? Also, have you ever heard of another follicle maturing/ovulating a week after HCG shot/IUI? This was an unmedicated cycle so any smaller follicles would dissolve after a larger follicle ovulates, correct?
