Severe Chronic Endometritis...but no infection

Hi, We have been trying to conceive for 10 years, and have had 6 failed IUIs, never conceived. Last year in September after a failed IVF, although 2 great embryo were transferred, our doctor advised a hysteroscopy, and I was diagnosed with Chronic Endometritis. Prescribed 2 weeks of Vibramycin and MEtrozin and had a PIpelle biopsy after a month, which now says its Severe Chronic endometritis, persistent inflammatory cells in the endometrium.
The problem is that my doctor says there is no active infection (my autoimmune test is also clear) its only the inflammation that’s there, and I have a completely healthy body, all the test reports are clear, doesn’t require any antibiotics, and is totally against giving any right now. He says probably I had an infection, which went unnoticed and cleared itself and has left inflammation behind. We went to an infection Disease specialist, with some hope but she also said exactly the same thing.
Our Doctor says he has sent our case to a couple of his friends for suggestions, the suggestions that came are:
1. Pre-menopausal injections for 3 months and reviving the system in hopes that the inflammation would be gone
2. and full 9 month Tuberculosis medicine.
He has over ruled both of these suggestion as they'll take a toll on my otherwise healthy system
What should we do? Can you suggest something in our case?

I wish there was something definitive I could suggest but it sounds like your doctor has been thorough and the advice is wise. You could try a different antibiotic regimen but it sounds like there is no current infection and the inflammation is set there.

I would be recommending to my patient to move on to a surrogate which with good quality embryos should give you a very good chance of success.

Good luck.

Thank you for your reply. i guess i got so let down, I never checked again sorry. Yes we could give surrogacy a try, i do have 4 good embryos frozen right now. Giving myself time to revive mentally and hopefully will be in the game end of August! :)

I understand your disappointment and it will take some time to heal.

But then move forward with positive thoughts as good embryos with a normal uterus should give you a very good chance of success. :)

Hi,

I have a follow up question. Is it possible to get pregnant with chronic endometritis? what are the chances?

Thank you!
