I have been TTC for over a year and I have a regular circle of 28days. Six months ago I noticed that after my normal five days of menstral flow, I noticed I started seeing blood stains for three more days when I wipe which is the sixth day, seventh and eighth day and on the ninth day when its finally stops, it comes out with the normal discharge. Is there an issue? and what can be the cause? thank you.

Hi Lindy,
A normal menstrual cycle lasts up to seven days. Any bleeding that occurs for longer can be a sign of another issue. Most commonly women have uterine polyps or fibroid (benign overgrowths of the uterine lining or muscle). Other issues can include uterine infection, a bleeding disorder or abnormal Pregnancy (if isolated to one cycle). Your gynecologist can do a special Test called an HSG or saline sonogram to look for polyps or fibroids.
I hope this helps.
