Male Infertility - Low Motility

Post by ditchtech »

Require some suggestion on how to proceed. We have been trying to conceive for about 2 months without success. Following this failure, I went ahead with a Semen analysis, with the result showing I had low motility :-
Motility - 50
Motility Progressive - 02%
Motility Non-Progressive - 48%

I got prescribed LEVOCARNITINE tablet, with a daily dosage(thrice). After three months I took the tests again with following result :-
Motility - 55
Motility Progressive - 02%
Motility Non-Progressive - 53%

My queries :-
Does the tablet help the increase in Motility at all? I could not find any reference to this anywhere online.
Is IUI of any help in my case?
Really need to know how this can be fixed. I don't smoke and drink occasionally. Hence the doubts.
Appreciate any inputs. Regards.

As you can see the L-carnitine does not really help motility. What you need is an evaluation by a specialist in male fertility. You also do not mention the count or morphology and all three are important.

IUI would not likely be very helpful with progressive motility nof 1-2%.

Someone has to look at the whole picture.
