Diphenhydramine affecting fertility...

Hi,

I am 22 years old- my husband and I have been actively TTC for 9 months now. For the past 3 years I have been taking Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) at bedtime (for sleep). When I was younger I had a lot of fertile egg white CM, but now TTC I have noticed my CM is dry and white. I have been weaning off the meds and I am now down to 50 mg nightly. Once I am completely off the medication, if/when will my CM return to normal? Have I ruined my chances of conceiving? Do you think that the Benadryl is the cause of my infertility? I am very anxious to hear your opinion...thank you so much for your time.

I don't know if it's an effect of the diphenhydramine, but if you have noticed a decrease in cervical mucus that could be significant.

At age 22 and trying for nine months and your concern, it's time to see a fertility specialist to at least looking at the major fertility issues.
