Hello,
I have had 4 unsuccessful IUIs (3 with clomid and last IUI with injectables) at the Westminster office. I just recently was diagnosed with the H. Plyori infection (and now being treated with Prevpac)...I've read that it can affect fertility.
I'm wondering if that's why the 4 previous IUIs were unsuccessful? Have you heard of that? I'm primarily referring to the article below.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12072601
I'm also wondering how long I should wait to proceed with my 5th IUI...wait until I finish the antibiotics? Or wait even longer?
Thank you. Maria

Re: h pylori
Hi:
Aside from the one report you mentioned the literature on this is very scanty. The theory is that antibodies to H. Pylori might affect the movement of sperm and that would have nothing to do with antibiotics.
So I don't think waiting would be a benefit and I would think it's best to continue treatment. Talk it over with your primary RPMG doctor as I don't know all the facts of your case.
Good luck.
