Trying to get pregnant...

I had a period that lasted for 5 months so I started going to the doctor who referred me to a gynecologist who said i may be only releasing an egg 3 times a year or something. I started clomiphene 2 50mg pills for 5 days and on the 10th day of my cycle he said to havesex days 10 thru 20. Yesterday was day 10, im impatient and want it to happen this month so im hoping it does. my boyfriend and i have had unprotected sex for 2 yrs and i havent got pregnant, but have been pregnant before not by him..he has a child that is 9 yrs old but has had this job for 10 yrs where he breathes in chemicals like diesel fuel and stuff, he wouldnt do a sperm analysis but he does want a baby. My question is if he has already had a child 9 yrs ago could he still become infertile within that 9 yr time span, or could the dr be right about my eggs?

Hi:

Based on what you write if they are using Clomid your cycle has to be monitored with ultrasound to help you determine if it is working and you can determine when you are ovulating. If your gynecologist can't do that then see a real fertility specialist.

They do need to determine if your partner has adequate sperm since it sounds like he has toxic exposures and things could change a lot in nine years. If they pinpoint the time of ovulation they can do a post coital test and check for sperm in your mucus sperm if he won't do a semen analysis.
