Clomid & progesterone
Clomid & progesterone
On an unmedicated cycle my progesterone was at 13. On 50mg of clomid it dropped to 8.9. Is it common/normal for progesterone to drop because of clomid? Why is it okay for one to move on to a higher dose (100mg) if the lower dose dropped progesterone? Just a little confused... Thanks in advance!

Re: Clomid & progesterone
Hi:
That's unusual. Clomid usually increases the progesterone but there can be quite a bit of variation between cycles. It's also possible that you surged early and did not develop a good corpus luteum to produce progesterone well. Increasing to 100 mg should raise the levels.

Corpus luteum? Time to google! Hope the 100mg works it's magic. I appreciate the rapid response.
Re: Clomid & progesterone
That's the structure left over in the ovary after ovulation that produces progesterone.
