TTC for 1.5 years...need help please.

Post by joeybb26 »

Hi Dr & dear fellows,

My hubby & me have been ttc for 1.5 yrs but i have no good news yet. I have cysts since the age of 21 yrs old. I have taken medicine to solve this issue & now i left with one small size cyst in me. My hubby did a semens analysis test just last week, report come back with WBC (white blood cell) @ 1.2% which exceeded the normal range of 1% or less. The sperms are having infection and also the moility had been affected, 10% normal sperms, 40% active movement, 5% sluggish & 90% abnormal. Our doctor has given my hubby Doxycycline & Allumag MPS for 2 weeks of dosage then me clomid for day 5 - 9. I had finish my clomid. Do i still chances to get pregnant & will my hubby's condition improve after the medicine given by doctor?

Waiting for your kind advice. :)

Thank you :)

Yours Sincerely,
Joey

Hi:

You could get pregnant.

It would be helpful to recheck your husband's semen analysis a couple of months after the infection has cleared if you have not yet gotten pregnant to see if there has been improvement. If not it may take more than Clomid and timing to help get you pregnant. At that point I would suggest you see a fertility specialist if you are not already seeing one.

Good luck.

Dear Dr.

Can i understand more on my hubby's condition? With white blood cell @ 1.2%, is it consider a serious infection & our doctor told us the reason of 90% abnormal sperms are cause by the infection & will be fine after 2 weeks of medication, is it so? My hubby given the 2 medication that i mentioned above, i understand that Doxycycline is for killing the infection but what about the other medicaiton (Allumag MPS)?

My period started on 21st Aug & i took clomid on 25th Aug then bed on 29th Aug (last pill of clomid), am i doing it correctly? Shall i bed everyday as not to miss the best day or is really fine to bed every other day? My concern here is : hubby has got only 10% normal sperms (up to date), will the normal soldiers be able to stay long enough if we are going to bed every other day?

With my small cysts still inside me, do i still stand a chance to get pregnant with or without clomid? I'm sorry for the long question.

Would appreciate if you could address my above mention concern.

Thank you very much Dr Wisot.

The high white blood cells may indicate an infection. The only way to see if there is improvement is to retest the sperm after a couple of months.

The Allumag is an antacid to reduce the GI effects of the Doxycycleine.

Not knowing the details of your cysts I cannot say what effect they may have on your getting pregnant but I assume they are not too significant if your doctor gave you Clomid.

I am sorry that I cannot be more specific in this type of forum.
