I am a 28 y/o african american,I have had 2 large dermoid cysts on both ovaries removed. ( I dont remember the name of the surgery but i was cut from side to side like a c-section) This was in 2007,my dr. told me if i wasnt pregnant in a year to come see him.Well its been about 5 years of unprotected sex with the same partner who had two previos relationships resulting in pregnancies, so i assume he isnt the problem. My cycle is regular every 33 days, I check my cervix and to me it seems to normal.I have "middle pain" around the 10th of every month for 3 days with eggy mucous Does it sound like im ovulating? Im also wondering if i would benefit form store bought fertility and ovulation kits? Im also in the process of quitting smoking (smoker for 9 years) do you think the smoking caused too much damage? Or does your body heal from it? What is appropriate action here?

Hi:

After 5 years of not using contraception and not getting pregnant I think you need to see a fertility specialist to check out all aspects of your fertility.

It sounds like you are ovulating but that is not good enough.

Smoking could be a factor and quitting is the best thing you can do for yourself but you have a significant enough history that you need some professional guidance.
