Hi Dr. Wisot.
I have gone through 3 rounds of IVF with 2 miscarriages and the third one failing. My OB ran a repeated loss pregnancy panel and it come up ANA+. I followed up with my family doctor who ran a full ANA panel and I tested positive for Sjogren's Syndrome and I have the marker (ss antibody a/ro) for complete heart block in a fetus. Is there any treatment that I can take? I have read that women take prednisone or some do intralipids. Is the risk of CHB a high percentage?

Sjogren's Syndrome
Re: Sjogren's Syndrome
Hi Rachel:
Recurrent miscarriage is a risk as well as problems from antibodies that cross the placenta. Treatment of the antiphospholipid syndrome is usually anticoagulants. Steroids may also be used for the syndrome. I do not know of any evidence that intralipids have been shown to be of any value.
One thing to consider is to use a surrogate and avoid all of these risks, especially with your two miscarriages.
Here is a good summary http://sjogrenssymptoms.com/sjogrens-sy ... pregnancy/of the effects on pregnancy.
Good luck.
