Need help understanding my cycle
Need help understanding my cycle
I'm 32 years old and have been trying to get pregnant for the last 6 months. I have always had pretty regular cycles but for the last year I've had mid cycle spotting that can last 3-4 days. It doesn't happen every month but it seems like it happening more frequently. I've used ovulation tests and seem to time intercouse during what should be my fertile days. I don't know if this cycle change has anything to do with not getting pregnant. Any ideas for what is going on? I don't want to go through the expense of fertility testing since its only been 6 months but thinking now it might be a good idea.

The consistent mid cycle spotting might indicate a problem in the uterus like a polyp.
An ultrasound could see if there is any abnormality in the uterus, or a sonohysterogram or hysterosalpingogram would be even more definitive.
Waiting a year before any fertility testing is for someone who has no problems. With this change in your cycle it would not be too early to see a fertility specialist.
